Through the Official Gazette number 41.292, dated December 4, 2017, Samuel Moncada is appointed as the new Permanent Representative of Venezuela to the United Nations (UN), based in New York City.

Samuel Moncada served as Minister for Foreign Affairs, from June to August 2017.

Also, from March to June 2017, he served as ambassador of Venezuela to the Permanent Council of the Organization of American States (OAS).

Currently, he serves as Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs for North America and as head of the Presidential Commission before the Movement of Non-Aligned Countries (MNAC).

In his extensive curriculum, he has held the position of Ambassador of Venezuela to the United Nations (UN), which he assumed in 2013. He was also Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs for Europe and represented the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela as Ambassador to the United Kingdom and Ireland.

The new Ambassador of Venezuela to the UN graduated in History from the Central University of Venezuela and has a PhD in Modern History from Oxford University.
