Foreign Minister, Jorge Arreaza, ratified on Thursday at the high-level meeting of the Movement of Non-Aligned Countries (MNAC), the unrestricted support from Venezuela to the peoples of the world for their freedom, self-determination and cultural sovereignty.

During the signing of the Political Declaration and Plan of Action for the constitution of MNAC in the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (Unesco), located in New York, US Arreaza pointed out that the South American nation reaffirms "its commitment to the declaration and program of action recently adopted at this high-level meeting", while stressing the importance of strengthening dialogue and international cooperation in the area of human rights and cultural diversity, in order to effectively advance the consolidation of a true culture of peace.

During the meeting, which brings together the member countries of the MNAC, the Foreign Minister stressed the need to ensure the right "to the self-determination of peoples, the territorial integrity of States and non-interference in the internal affairs of States", in response to the principle that governs the Charter of the United Nations.

In this sense, the head of national diplomacy called to take "a step forward" and help the member states "to the prevailing substitution of the culture of war" for a cultural line of peace.
