More than 600 books in digital format can be downloaded for free during the 13th edition of the International Book Fair Venezuela (Filven), informed on Monday the Minister for Culture, Ernesto Villegas.

During a press conference held at the South Library Teresa Carreño Theater (TTC) in Caracas, the Minister of Culture stressed that downloads can be made through Canaima computers that will be installed at the fair and through mobile networks.

The Filven 2017, which will be held from Thursday 9 to November 19 under the motto Read what we are, in the spaces of the TTC, the Experimental University of the Arts (Unearte), Plaza de los Museos and the Eje del Buen Vivir, in Caracas, will pay homage to the Venezuelan writer and intellectual Alberto Rodríguez Carucci; as well as the Centennial of the Russian Revolution.

The literary event will have 150 posts, which will be distributed in 120 national exhibitors; 14 international exhibitors from Cuba, North Korea, Ecuador, Palestine, Sudan, China, India, Iran and Russia; four publishers in Spain and one in Panama. Also participating will be 39 specialized booksellers, 46 publishers and 16 distributors.

The spaces of the Filven will have room guides and sign interpreters, made up of young people from the Chamba Juvenil Plan and the National Council for Persons with Disabilities (Conapdis).

While the Eje del Buen Vivir, will become the Children's Pavilion of the fair, where recreational cultural activities, workshops, storytelling and two choirs will be presented. It will also serve as a stage for children to create their own books.
