Ministry of Popular Power for Foreign Affairs.

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela Nicolas Maduro, on behalf of the people and the Bolivarian Government extends its warmest congratulations to Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit, the people of Dominica and the Dominica Labour Party, on the historic victory obtained in the elections held on December 8, 2014. Likewise, he congratulates the people of Dominica for his demonstration of democratic exercise, political maturity and civic awareness.

The reelection of the Dominica Labour Party (DLP), for the third time, under the leadership of Roosevelt Skerrit, shows once again the profound social and popular character of his government, committed to the broad objectives of socio-economic transformation of its population, which demonstrates the high level of political awareness and commitment to the Latin American and Caribbean union, Prime Minister Skerrit, sees definitely guaranteed the continuity in the process of building the "Patria Grande", dreamed by the Liberator Simón Bolívar and our Commander Hugo Chavez.

This important victory coincides with a day of deep significance for the Chavista people, the celebrated year of the "Day of loyalty to the Supreme Commander Hugo Chavez". That is why we remember the deep affection and friendship that united our Commander Hugo Chávez with the people of Dominica and its leader Roosevelt Skerrit, who always gave words of admiration and respect, for their courage to be the first Caribbean country joining the ALBA.

It is for this reason that President Nicolas Maduro, wishes to reiterate the commitment of the Bolivarian Revolution to advance the consolidation of the strategic alliance between Dominica and Venezuela. In the same way that we hope to continue in the construction of the ALBA - PETROCARIBE Economic Zone, which will give momentum to the economic and trade relations between the countries of our region.

This victory allows us, along with Dominica to continue writing the pages of the new history of Latin American and Caribbean peoples, who are directed toward the realization of an inexorable fate of sovereignty, independence, mutual protection, unity and peace.

Long Live the People of Dominica!

Long Live Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit!
