As part of the visit to Russia of the high-level delegation of the Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, the Vice-minister for Europe of the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry, Yván Gil, held a meeting on Tuesday with the Russian Vice-minister of Foreign Affairs, Sergey Riabkov.
The cordial meeting revolved around continuing to strengthen ties of friendship, cooperation and joint action between the two countries on the international stage.
Vice-minister Gil is part of the national commission that visits the Eurasian nation, headed by the Executive Vice-president, Delcy Rodríguez and also made up of the Minister for Economy and Finance, Simón Zerpa and the Vice-president of the Central Bank of Venezuela (BCV), Sohail Hernández.
These bi-national meetings seek to fortify strategic alliances, strengthen the exchange of knowledge and consolidate the new strategies that aim at the integral development of the South American nation, whose people and government suffer the effects of a brutal economic and commercial blockade imposed by the US ruler, Donald Trump, who threatens to extend it to the naval area.
Regarding this, Vice-minister Riabkov said Tuesday that his government warned the United States about the seriousness of applying these “hasty measures” of maritime blockade against the Bolivarian nation.
Russia and Venezuela maintain strong cooperative relations in defense, energy, technology, education and commerce, which are strengthened after each bilateral meeting.
